Corona symptoms that are NOT fever and dry cough?

I travelled to the Middle East in early February, when we came back both my dd and I came down with the same bug. We had the most god awful taste in our mouths, neither of could not taste anything at all, we both felt sick.
We had D&V for one day and one night, and stomach cramps for over a week. For two nights were not feverish, but sweating as you may do with normal D&V and my dh described us both as very rosy looking. I had a sore throat on and off and my glands are up for three weeks. My dd completely recovered and did so within the first week. My symptoms are persisting on and off but I feel better. The one thing I have had is very red eyes, not sore or infected but just really red raw. I used eye drops to alleviate it.

This morning I read in the Sunday papers that these are symptoms of Coronavirus in younger people. I am shocked. I had no idea at all, and have been carrying on as normal up until the lockdown. I could have infected numerous people, at no point until I read this article did I think this may be coronavirus, and if this is the case, there may be many many more people working and shopping/caring for the elderly/nursing as normal with some of these symptoms.

Have you heard anything about this?

This needs to be publicised as most people with stomach cramps or sore eyes would not consider CV.

We haven't been tested (tests are rare as unicorn poop here, Trump doesn't want his numbers to go up), but my 16 year old and I got sick arlund the 4th march. We had headaches, sore throats and a slight dry cough. A few days of this and qe then got breathlessness, very weird for her as out of all our family she is the only one not to have asthma. The symptoms would come and go, some days we would feel fine almost the whole day, it came in waves and we would feel worse in the evenings often. We didn't always notice tge breathlessness as we werw self quarantined so not very active. So it would take us by surprise at night when cooking or washing up for dinner. Otger symptoms were a day or two tummy cramps and diarrhea, slight leg pains and cramping of toes/legs, occasional chills or night sweats but no fever. Chest pain at times, bit no crackling.

My sons and husband didn't start getting sick for 10 days more. They have the cough, sore throat, head ache and tummy problems. But no breathlessness thank god.

I suspect it must be the virus, because up until we isolated my daughter was off allnover the city on public transport and was poor at hand washing when she got home. she constantly has her hands on her face.

If antibody tests become available we will definitely take them. I almost hope we have had it because if so, we have quarantined well and seem to have had it mildly. It has gone on a long time though. Over 20 days. I worry that my boys and husband might get worse because of the asthma.

It's so interesting.

I had the tight chest feeling for a few days and shirt of breath. Hay fever season started and so thought that.

However I then had taking from ill days but chest started 2 days before

Day 1 no sense of smell. (Still didn't know I was ill and felt fine)
Day 2 flushed in evening and cold. Slight temp. No taste.
Day 3 extremely tried and thirsty and slight temp but felt so cold.
Day 4 slight coughing but nothing concerning mild temp, pain in lower legs and shoulders. Extremely thirsty
Day 5 felt slightly brighter but still extremely thirsty.
Day 6 loose stools and bright red sore and dry eyes
Day 7 felt better.

Still feeling much better in myself but pain in lower ribs/lungs, sometimes coughing but not struggling for breath.

I had convinced myself at first I had it and then when I recovered quickly I convinced myself I couldn't have had it.

I was convinced I'd die because I smoked.
However - whatever it was one good thing came. I've quit! And managed to stick to it quite easily Grin

Over the last 10 days I’ve had loads of symptoms but no temp. Sore eyes/sore throat/nausea/headaches/breathlessness/fatigue

3 days ago I completely lost sense of snell and taste. Never had anything like it before (literally cannot smell a thing-spray perfume in my arm and can’t smell it). I now also have diarrhoea but it could be because I’m eating things I shouldn’t (normally don’t go by best before, just go by the smell!)

Should also say I had no appetite either. Lost 5lb in 5 days and then realised I may be beach body ready with no beach to go to!
Also ended up with bad acid reflux which disappeared overnight on day 8.

First 6 days I couldn't get through the day without a 2 hour nap!

I was that thirsty I even took my blood sugar (ds has monitor for another condition) as I became convinced it was diabetes starting.

I never felt short of breath by I was aware of every breath I took for days and every now and again my heart would race in my throat.

I'm another who would be interested in antibody test.

I’m worried now. About two weeks ago I had a really bad night’s sleep, when I got up I went straight back to bed and took some migraine medication. Felt a bit hot in bed for a few days but kept checking my temperature - normal, and no cough. Then got really sore throat and glands in my throat, white patches like tonsillitis and a bit of a cold. Tried to manage it with painkillers but eventually got antibiotics over the phone a week ago. Randomly got bloodshot and sticky eyes like conjunctivitis for a couple of days. Still finishing my antibiotics but feel almost 100% now, but I’m panicking I’ve had it. Not that I’ve been anywhere, but haven’t been particularly careful at home with my other half, who is fine so far. 😭

I had a horrendous sore throat, excruciating headaches and a fever back in February, my daughter had the same before me, and I just realised yesterday that she complained of everything "tasting funny" and she couldn't eat because it didn't taste right. I lost my sense of taste and smell but it's only in the last couple of days they've mentioned this as a symptom.

I know someone in hospital now. Been feeling sick and nauseous for a week. Collapsed so ambulance phoned. Breathing difficulties within hours.

My family may have had it. I had a fever and aches and tiredness, with sore throat and glands up. Felt rubbish for about 3 days but no cough, and then gradually better within a week. But at the end of the week I distinctly remember noticing my sense of smell/taste was gone - my mum lost hers years ago so I thought to myself, 'Oh poor mum, so this is what it's like!' My son was next with high fever and dry cough. My youngest felt a bit tired and 'off' for a couple of days but no real symptoms and then my husband (the oldest of us) got a horrible fluey illness with a dry cough - lasted about 2 weeks and he was able to work but dragging himself and in bed straight after work every night. Never took his temperature but felt rubbish, and in week 2 he developed what looked like conjunctivitis. Just as he was recovering (with lingering cough) it all started to kick off about isolating etc, but by then it wasn't a lingering cough. We all had contact with a lot of people while we were poorly. I can't wait for the antibody test as I want to know if that was it, specifically for my husband as he's higher risk. I'd be so happy if our turn was over.

Relative of a friend had 'upset stomach' for 5 days followed by cough, chest pain, sore throat. Now in hospital. The only other person I know who has had it, and now fine, said she had a terrible taste in her mouth, which lingered long after the temperature and tight chest subsided. She's still exhausted three weeks down the line but very much on the mend.

I am convinced that our household has had it.

Todder DS was the first one to get a temp, he's always got a runny nose and a bit of a cough so I just gave him calpol for the temp and he seemed fine in himself so I wasn't worried! Then a few days later his eyes were SO bloodshot and he has a bit of yellow discharge, I thought he had conjunctivitus! After 2 days his eyes were back to normal and he seemed fine so I thought it was just a bug!

Then a few days later I got a really sore throat.. on the night I had a really high temp and was chilled to the bone. Then my ear kept crackling and popping and was so painful it kept me awake all night as it just felt blocked. I thought it was an ear infection so I went to the Drs and she said it was just my sinus's. 2 days later I woke up with really bloodshot eyes with a discharge, no energy at all, ear still blocked up but not painful and an on-off temp. I spent 2 days on the sofa with Peppa Pig babysitting DS.. the cough was still there but not too bad really. My eyes were back to normal a few days later and I slowly felt better each day but it's been 4 weeks since I started feeling poorly and my ear is still blocked and I have a cough!

DP had it too.. exactly the same way, blocked ears, bloodshot eyes and feeling awful with no energy.

I just thought it seemed strange to have bloodshot eyes for a few days and then it goes away on it's own? And I didn't think you could catch blocked sinus's from someone? I really don't know i'm hoping we have had it already!

I thought I had tonsillitis at first, so horrific glass swallowing type pain plus ear pain (nothing visible at all)

Then other than the temperature/cough (disclaimer - the cough wasn’t awful for me so it may well not have been CV, however the rest of the family have been coughing with it) it was:
-Awful fatigue/muscle pain. The fatigue has been different for me despite having had ME for 8 years - the last few days since the main symptoms eased have been incredibly unnerving. It’s like I can’t trust my body and I just feel really weak and washed out
-Loss of appetite and sense of taste. Lost over 5lb
-Less sense of smell
-Really odd feeling in my throat. Like nothing I’ve had before
-Sore eyes. Really really weird.

Late February I also had a dry cough, cold, no smell, tummy upset and conjunctivitis, all within just over a week (what a fun week!) And I quickly recovered.
I thought at first it was just an unlucky combination of illness, I am now wondering if it was COVID-19 but also adenovirus (as well as many others) can also cause all these symptoms! So more likely that I think.

These were all my symptoms:

Op absolutely agree with the upset stomach, cramps eye irritation. Our eldest cake down with all the above a week and a half before the schools closed a quick look online said that China had reported that gastro symptoms were present for a significant proportion of patients. We kept him home and other other kids after that and worked from home. I have had the cramps and eye irritation feeling rough as have my other two kids. Husband has been fine. www.contagionlive.com/news/gastrointestinal-symptoms-could-be-new-focus-for-coronavirus-diagnosis-

Just to say. I have not had a temperature at all and my cough initially was very intermittent. I did have sore watery eyes for a few days before the occasional tickly cough in fact I went and got some optrex.

I’ve been very dizzy, sleeping at lot, but able to get on with day to day stuff at home, although I have brain fog and it takes longer to do stuff and remember things!
I’ve not had a fever, but have felt shivery and fluy
I’m day 12 now and last night was the first time I didn’t go to bed at 8pm. However the last 2 days I am coughing like mad, particulars when I speak!
I do feel a bit better I have to say but still dizzy and not right.

Hi I am really interested to see how many people think / know they’ve had this as I think it is WAY higher than thought. I got sick with fever on 10th march, within an hour it was 40 degrees, I had to go to bed and then the headache started. It was so painful, felt like my brain was under huge pressure and that also affected my eyes... I couldn’t focus properly for the 2-3 days I had the fever and couldn’t get out of bed. The sore throat, back ache, tightness around chest, strange muscle pains mostly in legs and knees stuck around until day 10-12. I also lost all sense of taste and smell for around 4/5 days mid way into being ill. My husband got sick 3 days later, pretty much the same symptoms.
My kids had both had coughs for a week or so before we got ill but nothing else.
There were a number of people in our local area who are parents of my kids friends who reported many of the same symptoms around the same time. Some just had loss of taste and smell.
My husband paid for a test which came back yesterday as positive for the antibody.
We have no idea where we got sick as we haven’t been away. And although uncomfortable and like a horrible flu, it seems for the majority of people this really isn’t a serious illness...

Do I get the impression that the “classic” symptoms are more likely to develop into a serious case? (She says, hopefully, as both me and DS seem to have mild symptoms which don’t include fever or cough....)

Prof James Naismith, director of the Rosalind Franklin Institute at the University of Oxford, added the rise in fatalities will lag behind new cases, because an individual who died in the last day was infected a month ago.

Terrifying as anyone who had any of these type of symptoms has to wait up to a whole month to feel more confident that they had it and survived it.
