Anyone else got it into their head that it's not safe for windows to be open in case if it being transmitted?

Unless someone comes and leans in and coughs on you, you'll be fine.

I've said this a few times but it's a good way to put things in perspective. Measles is airborne and is 6 times as infectious as coronavirus. You wouldn't worry about catching measles through an open window would you?

Ffs🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
In case of coronavirus butterflies?

I know anxiety can sometimes mean common sense escapes us, but no, opening your window is very safe.

If you can (cats permitting!) open front and back, upstairs and downstairs, for about an hour in the morning. Or just upstairs, then switch downstairs. Letting air in is healthy. Letting out stale air from snoring all night is healthy.

sellthesizzle · 28/03/2020 23:13

No, seriously give yourself a stern talking to and stop letting anxiety take control.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/03/2020 23:14

I’m opening them more. Stuffy muggy homes with no ventilation aren’t good for you.

All that moisture we breath out all the time combined with the bacteria/yeast/fungi in the air swirling around.

Notcontent · 28/03/2020 23:20

Sorry you are alone on this one OP - but you would have lots of people agreeing with you if you travelled back to the Middle Ages when “bad air” was widely held responsible for all kinds of disease...

ajs8 · 28/03/2020 23:25

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Jesus!! I’ve heard it all now!!

nicerainyweather · 28/03/2020 23:26

The Chinese have been advised to open windows.

PickAChew · 28/03/2020 23:31

You'd be in more danger from the mould in an unventilated house than theoretical nonexistent airborne virus particles.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 28/03/2020 23:38

I think people are being unfair to you OP. I live in a terrace and my windows are less than 6ft from my neighbour’s windows so are not social distancing compliant. I think it’s a small risk that they would be sneezing out their window but for sure it’s a concern.

cyclingmad · 28/03/2020 23:40

Open your windows and let in fresh. It's so bad to breathe in stale air unless you have a ventilation system that circulates clean filtered air.

You will make yourself ill if you dont get fresh air

Omg! Seriously?!!
