Where is Chancellor Sunak?

Just that really.

He has disappeared from the media.

He is first in line to the job of PM.

Where is he?

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 28/03/2020 18:04

He was seen less than 2m from BJ during BJs incubation period

mynameiscalypso · 28/03/2020 18:05

Isn't Dominic Raab the nominated deputy if BJ can't fulfil his PM obligations?

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 28/03/2020 18:05

Dunno. Busy chancelling?

pocketem · 28/03/2020 18:06

He was around just two days ago. How often do you want to see him? Go on YouTube if you are getting withdrawal symptoms

Maighdeann · 28/03/2020 18:11

I thought it was strange too OP.

adiposegirl2 · 28/03/2020 18:12

Nothing has been said about him.

Not even that he is self isolating due to BJ proximity.

I hope he s alright.

PM, Chancellor, Foreign secretary, Home Secretary. I believe is the order of succession. At least is was when I studied Government & Politics many moons ago.

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 28/03/2020 18:13

Raab is the deputy and will stand in for the PM, although yes not officially self isolating, he has been with BJ a lot and must be at some risk

ShagMeRiggins · 28/03/2020 18:13

No idea where Sunak is but Raab is the PM’s nominated stand-in.

Politics doesn’t have a clear line of succession like Royalty.

helpfulperson · 28/03/2020 18:13

After the work he has put in the last week or so I hope he's have a well deserved day off. This isn't a short term crisis where we can expect people to work 7 days out of ;7.

SabineSchmetterling · 28/03/2020 18:15

Dominic Raab is First Secretary of State. If Johnson is incapacitated, he’ll be in charge.

hopefulhalf · 28/03/2020 18:16

Rishi is self isolating as a household contact of Johnson's.

FourTeaFallOut · 28/03/2020 18:18

I do like Sunak, he seems like a reasonable guy who actually answers the questions he is asked and doesn't descend into fit of clichés. Hope he is alright.

esjee · 28/03/2020 18:19

I bet loads of ministers have it. It wouldn't surprise me if the chancellor did tio, but announcing that all these people either have it or may have it and need to self isolate in a short time period would make them look rather more incompetent.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 28/03/2020 18:24

It would be incredibly ironic if most of the cabinet are infected

playthestation · 28/03/2020 18:29

2 days ago he was on the televised press conference.

I do think people like to create drama for fun.

Afterhours · 28/03/2020 18:30

Yesterday it was reported that he wasn’t self-isolating as he didn’t have symptoms.

Shitsgettingcrazy · 28/03/2020 18:33

He was on TV on thursday night.

He isnt going to take over if Boris gets to I'll.

It was announced it would be Rabb a few weeks ago.

DivGirl · 28/03/2020 18:46

Everything's shut so he's probably at home.

Butterfingers64 · 28/03/2020 18:53

Dominic Raab seems to have disappeared! I was expecting him to pop up at the press conference today since Boris has the lurg and he has been identified as next in line. Not a peep!

Eskarina1 · 28/03/2020 19:12

I assume they are not working 7 days a week because they can't afford to burn out.

TheReelSlimShady · 28/03/2020 19:13

Er.... do you work 24 hours a day 7 days a week? He has a family and is entitled to some down time you know!

PicsInRed · 28/03/2020 19:42

Dominic Raab seems to have disappeared!

Dominic Raab is likely being kept well clear of the Giant Lurgy Cabinet right now.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's being safety stored somewhere outside Lerwick. In a hole. Deep, deep, deep underground.

Cough Cough

DivGirl · 28/03/2020 19:45

Don't think anyone is safe in Lerwick @Picsinred haven't they got the highest per population CV rate up there? Although if they've thrown him down a well...
