Question about testing for NHS staff

Can someone explain to me please?

I get that testing NHS staff is vital and that anyone who has the virus must immediately self isolate and will therefore not spread the virus.

What about those that test negative, will they receive tests at regular intervals? Surely this has to be part of the plan?

The idea is to test those who are isolating with symptoms, so that if they don't actually have the virus they can go back to work. So if they had symptoms again they would be tested again. One of the biggest strains on the NHS at the moment is staffing, because so many people are isolating due to mild symptoms (either themselves or a family member). It would help massively if we could get them back to work.

Ah I see so it's to get people back to work rather than take those working out. Got it!
