Hard to care about Work.

Anyone else?
I'm still working and required to go in if I can all being well others aren't going in and they're working from home and others are just taking leave because it's too many staff in the building.
Also two people went on maternity a few months earlier than planned...
So I'm doing more work which I find unfair and should I really care that much, that I'm not answering people's emails in a quick time because of lack of staff and coronavirus in the air?
Basically what I'm saying is everyday is busy and I'm doing what I can but when it gets really busy I'm just going to be on a constant delay and backlog.
And half of me just doesn't care because of the general situation.
But it's only gonna get worse in a weeks and months ahead.

I have the opposite problem, not enough to do & trying to fill my hours but it all seems so trivial & inconsequential.

Sorry, that's not much help Sad

Kinda annoying when it was quiet for all of one day. I took a day off. Then came back with lots of work to catch up on.
So my plan to work staggered hours wont work.

Fuck it, hand in your notice then.

Lots of people out there without jobs and income and you're complaining about having to work a bit harder? Really?

SnuggyBuggy · 29/03/2020 06:52

I think people need to be prepared to cut workers some slack and accept that things will take longer. I wouldn't work flat out, you'll just burn out.

Dont work flat out. The extra workload and pressure combined with the stress of the whider situation will break you eventually.

Think about what is realistic, not what is ideal and aim for that. If people have to wait longer for a response or a product then they need to wisen up and accept that for the majority of services that's how it will be at the moment.

My workload has increased tenfold in the past two weeks, thankfully our manager is understanding and at the moment we are all well and able to work at full steam.

Don't let it swamp you and bog you down, you are just one person. You can't be held accountable for lack of staff and support.
