Builders and social distancing

Flutterby63 · 28/03/2020 13:30

There's construction work going on outside my flat (our landlord is building a new block next door) and the builders are standing around chatting about a foot from each other. These builders also access our building.

I've tried telling the letting agent and contacted the landlord but they are unlikely to reply (there's been issues with noise before and they weren't interested).

What are my options?

Your options? Leave them to it and stop curtain-twitching

Tell them or ring the police who might do a drive by.

They came through our village we never usually see them unless they are trying to get a short cut to motorway (gates at some farms) on a chase or if a quad bike goes missing and they aren't busy.

@Bowerbird5 Thanks. I can't speak to them directly as their machinery is so loud they can only hear me if I get close to them, and of course that's the whole reason for the post. I managed to speak 101 who said they would pass it onto council.

@pocketem Why would I risk going down there and why should I get close to tell them? They know the rules, social distancing is 2m for a reason. It's like me going up to someone who's spitting or hitting or someone. They know it's wrong. Besides which there's one of me and 10 of them.
