Hi what is everyone using to wipe down the shopping once you get it home or have it delivered? I've been using my babies Milton wipes but they won't last much longer and my pre-order for more wipes aren't till April 30th?
Keep safe all and thanks

Just washed everything in soapy warm water. I don't think you need to Milton it.

Hi Its not the bleach I'm using alcohol wipes that can be used on bottle teats and dummies so I assumed safe for what I'm using them for. How do you wash bread bags in warm soapy water

:( I am a home care worker and I had some spare as I only used them when kids had sick bugs etc so I ended up leaving them in peoples homes for when I am there.

cleaning shopping?

I haven’t been washing my shopping. I’ve read up on this and most sensible sources say the risk of transmission from shopping is incredibly low, and the likelihood of illness from ingesting cleaning products much greater. I’ve just been washing my hands when I get home before I unpack.

If you want to keep washing your shopping I would think warm soapy water would be the safest thing.

Notso · 28/03/2020 16:44

I haven't been washing shopping, I wash my hands before and after unpacking like I do normally.

2beautifulbabs · 28/03/2020 17:08

Not been washing our shopping either just the usual washing hands afterwards and I agree with PP chances are your going to make yourself ill by ingesting chemicals from the cleaning products you are using on food items

I saw something which advices dipping things in a diluted bleach solution. It explained this is what happens to salad, so it wont harm you too much. I did everything except cardboard items.

Pulppixies · 28/03/2020 18:41

I haven’t been washing shopping or doing anything different with my post. The experts say it’s a very low risk anyway.

H1978 · 28/03/2020 18:45

I read somewhere to let the shopping sit for about three hours if you can and then unpack as usual and wash hands after

I’ve put a couple of packages I had arrive, in the shed for a few days, not sure if it’s the right thing to do though but won’t harm it I suppose

Topseyt · 28/03/2020 18:45

Nothing. I don't wash my shopping down and have no intention of starting.

I follow all guidelines, working from home, social distancing when I go out for my walk etc.

I won't be washing my shopping.
