Single parent- what happens to my DD if I’m hospitalised?

My mind is running away with me, because I don’t have it. But my daughter’s Dad isn’t around, and my mum is over 70, so is self isolating.

If I had to go to hospital, what would happen?

I’m sorry if this has been asked before.

Either your mum will have to take her (regardless of self-iso) unless you allocate a friend or another family member.
If none of these, she'll go into temporary foster care.

If your DM and DD Dad are willing to take her, then it would probably have to be temporary foster care. I know that does sound ideal but it would be temporary.

I would look into nominating a friend. There are many families who are young, fit and have no underlying health conditions. If I were your friend, I would happily agree to have your child. Much safer than with an elderly relative and no different in risk than the child going to a foster home.

Thank you all. It’s clear, isn’t it, I need to find a friend.
