Food shopping - a bit stuck

I live in central London and like many people I don’t have a car. I normally do my shopping using Ocado every two weeks and then topping up from local shops. I now obviously can’t get an Ocado order. That’s ok in the short term as I have some reserves and can get some things from shops close to me. However, I will eventually need to do a big shop and I am not sure how I will do that. To make it worse, an elderly neighbour also relies on Ocado and now he can’t get a slot so is relying on me, And I am not sure how I am going to help him... obviously I can get him some basics but not enough to feed him on a week by week basis.

Anyone else in that position?

I used to have to do my 'big shop' twice a week with an enormous rucksack. It was all I could do as I had no car.

The Morrisons food boxes are out of stock at the moment but there were slots this morning so I think they release a few more each day. You could order 2 and then give any surplus to your neighbour. No choice as to what they contain but people getting them on here report that they contain things like milk, cheese, bread, ham, pasta, pasta sauce, mince or chicken, sauces or bacon, beans, tinned soup, margarine type spread and veggies. You don't need to be in a Morrisons delivery area (I'm not) as they are sent out from a central warehouse via DHL.

Sausages, not sauces. I wish MN had an edit button sometimes!

There's a veggie box if you're not a meat eater
