Hay fever????

Does anyone know if covid symptoms are similar to hay fever symptoms.

I normally suffer from acute hay fever when the pollen levels are high.

At the minute my eyes are slightly sensitive to light and nose is very sensitive on the inside, I also have a slight wheeze on my chest.

Would you consider this to by symptomatic to covid or would you put it down to seasonal hay fever

I am tight chested today. My GP mentioned that tree pollen is high at the moment.

Clutterbugsmum · 27/03/2020 16:17

Tree pollen has started, and for me this year it seems to be very high.

I have itchy eyes, mouth and ears. I'm sneezing for England and my nose is totally blocked or running like a taps been turned on.

TheSimpleThings17 · 27/03/2020 16:19

I have been suffering all week with what I hope is bad hayfever symptoms (live very rurally and surrounded by a crop of rapeseed just coming out) scratchy throat, heavy head, slight wheeze and can’t breathe well at night - really hope this is allergies and not Covid...

SirVixofVixHall · 27/03/2020 16:19

I don’t normally have Hay fever this early, or to this degree, it does seem a bad year.

DdJames · 27/03/2020 16:28

It's the tress pollen, it's the only time I get hay fever and it's been really bad the last couple of weeks!

The itchy eyes, face and nose are really helping me to not touch my face!!!

practicallyperfectwithprosecco · 27/03/2020 16:29

I have really bad hay fever at moment- I'm scared of coughing or sneezing in public for fear of reaction I might get! I went shopping today and held my breath a few times to suppress coughs and sneezes until I was back in the car!

desperatetostaypositive · 27/03/2020 16:30

I've had hayfevery symptoms for the past week on and off. I always suffer early in spring. Of course we're paranoid. But I have no fever, no cough, and an antihistamine really helped. So I think I am safe to assume that's what it is. However I'm at home, just me, Dh and ds, none of us has been further than the garden for a week. So doing a good job with self isolating.

JillyWillyPops · 27/03/2020 16:31

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's feeling this at the minute. I have noticed that year on year my symptoms feel worse so hopefully this is all that I'm experiencing at the minute.

I am also surrounded with rapeseed fields which normally affect me.

Thank fuck for that!
I have a frontal headache, my chest feels tight and my 'asthma cough' is back. The back of my throat feels scratchy.

I don't have a temperature

I hoped it was my hay fever ....looks like it is!

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 27/03/2020 16:34

I've had a wheeze now for about three weeks, along with scratchy nose and eyes.

I've heard it's particularly bad this year, but I've been wondering if it's also something to do with the lower pollution levels everywhere?

Jeleste · 27/03/2020 16:35

Its started for me too. I get difficulty breathing and sneeze a lot. Its the same now as every year, so im not worried about it being corona.

JillyWillyPops · 27/03/2020 16:35

My temp has also been normal, I've been obsessive checking it morning and night. 🥴

I start to suffer this time of the year with terrible hayfever and no amount of antihistamine helps. Today my chest is tight and painful with a tickley feeling. Like you though, it's crossed my mind whether Corina virus could feel like this is it was a 'mild' dose.

fairyfingers · 27/03/2020 16:40

I have tree pollen allergy which is shocking at the moment (I welcome lock down and staying inside away from that hateful blossom). I have those exact symptoms.

Fwiw, I possibly had cv a few weeks ago and this is different and normal for this time of year for me

wheresmymojo · 27/03/2020 16:54

I don't usually have hay fever but even I have slightly itchy eyes and am sneezing. Mine isn't CV so I think the pollen count must be really high this past week or so since it's been nice weather.

Amummyatlast · 27/03/2020 16:55

I have the same problem. Sneezing, itchy eyes, tight chest and occasional cough. It happens every year at this time, but I have noticed that it’s been worse than usual, as normally I don’t have to take antihistamines every day.

Siameasy · 27/03/2020 17:01

My DD and SIL have the same thing-SIL always has it due to oil seed rape which we are surrounded by. DD is snotty but that’s it.
