How much school work set?

So I have 2 DSs age 8 and 10. School sent home packs of work with guidelines on what needs to be done. Seems a lot in it, takes most of the day. They say that they actually doing more work than in school. They are quite cooperative about it all. I have heard people from other schools saying they didnt get very much. So how much did your children get? Would it be about the same as normal days in school? I'm just glad I'm not working and have Google to teach me some of this stuff 1st!!!

My 8 year old has definitely been set more than they would get done in school. It's far too much imo so I've rewritten his timetable and thinned it out a bit.

It's not worth stressing over. Just do the key bits and everything else is a bonus. Health and happiness first.

9/10 tasks a day. Mostly reading and writing but my daughter is six
