We were ill a week after coming back from France skiing in alps, feel it must have been this, after all the people returning at once across France that same weekend. The roads and services were all packed

Just wondered if anyone else had symptoms at the same time.

I'm sure I read that the first confirmed case in the UK was someone who had returned from the Alps.

Yes, we were in the Haute Savoie for half term. Home on the Sunday, aches and chills Tuesday- Sunday. Really sore throat, chest pain ( like a burp stuck) and very tired followed by a 10 day dry cough. 111 told me to carry on as normal as I hadn't been to a high risk area. I was very tired and felt 'poorly' but not terribly unwell. My theory is that I picked it up in the first few days, either at a service station or in the bunfight that is the early morning ski lifts.

We were also in Haute Savoie, home n the Sunday (crazy traffic) ferry back Brittany ferries overnight..ours started after about a week, DH very ill coughing up blood (in phlegm) and very high temp, he is on immune meds though but VV ill and GP didn't test as France, but gave antibiotics over the phone in home was bacterial infection (or after virus as can happen) he slowly recovered but lost a lot of weight, and I had less severe but still nasty.

Wonder if it was during the trip back we picked it up as many many people traveling through those services and presumably would be others from Italy also.

According to a recent study half of the population have probably already been infected by now. So I think it's likely.

I think the first case was the guy who travelled from Singapore straight to Alps and then UK? In Brighton possible, someone Walsh?

My mom went to Europe at half term. Came back with a bad cough that she's still got a bit of. I'm wondering whether it was corona.

Look at The Telegraph yesterday, they think they might have found a new 'patient zero' first UK case - he was at the Austrian resort in the second week of January which has been accused of covering up an outbreak.
