Furlough questions

Has anyone been advised what their pay will look like whilst on furlough?

Especially if you earn over £2,500 a month?

Does the £2,500 include things company car allowances?

So if you get paid £3,000 per month plus £500 a month car allowance would you get £2,500 and then continue to get the £500 a month car allowance on top?

I doubt it.

I’d be more worried about just getting it at the minute. My Finance Director said he has no idea how to sort this and so far instructions are sketchy.

I would like to know if the £2500 is before tax and NI

Parker231 · 26/03/2020 19:51

The £2,500 is gross. No allowances payable and subject to tax and national insurance deductions.

@candle18

Yes from everything I've read online the £2,500 would be subject to tax and NI

@parker231

Sorry when you say "gross" so that includes company car allowances? So the employer doesn't have to pay the company car allowance on top of the JRS £2.5k?

Bear in mind your workplace can top it up to your full salary if they wish.

Parker231 · 26/03/2020 19:57

The maximum payment is £2,500 gross. The employer does not have to pay any top up as the maximum recoverable is capped at £2,500.
