Haven't we enough of these threads? We've done this - it's a fair comment and no-one is defending dishonesty, but I bet it's a lot smaller group than you think.

Just been talking about this with DH. We play by the rules and like to show that our business is doing well so that we can get a good mortgage and all the rest of it. But there are those that play it clever so they can get a rebate. Those people will most definitely lose out big time.

Please don't assume all self employed are dishonest though. We account for every penny.

No assumption here.

However without a shadow of a doubt.... some will be kicking themselves for not being honest with their returns
