I know - first world problems - but ds is so sad about all of this and the thought of him waking up to nothing apart from what I can buy from Tesco express breaks my heart. Birthday is end of June. Dh thinks it is overkill to buy things now - but currently amazon are still delivering so I could get a few things.
What are people doing?

DS's birthday is mid June. I'm not buying anything at the moment as I've been furloughed so I will have a drop in income. I'll just have to make do nearer the time.

My two are the end of June and July. I already have one item each plus books and I've actually ordered some Lego from Very today as I had a £30 account credit offer.

I'm hoping it won't be so bad by then, but I'd rather have something here just in case!

My dds is in May. I've bought all of her presents ready.

DS has a summer birthday too, but he will be 14 so a game downloaded straight to his xbox will be a perfectly appreciated present. Although obviously I am really hoping we are at least heading back towards normal by then.

DP’s and DS’s birthday are in the next few weeks. I got both sets of cards before the schools finished. I made sure I got and the dried ingredients/decorations in for making birthday cakes. I ordered one of DS’s presents a couple of weeks ago and it can a couple of days ago, but there will be more I need to get so I will have to order online.

Two of my children have their birthdays in april. It was sad breaking the news to my son that his party is cancelled. But I'm going to put decorations up and give them there presents. I got some popcorn pots and little milk bottles with straws to watch a movie with. And them we will have a little fire in the garden in the evening and make some smores. I ordered presents, decorations, candles and what not earlier than normal to give extra time to get here.

April birthday. I am going to order this week. Was just waiting to be paid, we had tiered wage cuts so wanted to see what we got aid before I spent anything. But yes, I'd get stuff now, just incase...

April birthday, have ordered a toy off Amazon and will get DH to pick up cake etc. when he next goes to the supermarket.

We are going to do an indoor treasure hunt for presents then a teddy bears picnic in the living room for lunch. Luckily he has a baby brother so there's someone more than just DH and I.

Might do birthday 2 in the summer, planned outing to Thomas Land.

May bday i’ve started to think about it now. Also been thinking about ordering Easter eggs online.

InanOcadoQueue · 26/03/2020 18:22

Yes. May birthday but ordered presents last week just in case deliveries are slow or can't happen. Only getting a couple of bits, so less than usual.

End of June. If necessary she will get vouchers. Some new books on her kindle. But not buying yet. She will be 9.

I've just had to explain to my 7yo I might not be able to make her 'party'cake on Sunday as I have no icing. Her party just the four of us.

My DS is in April. I bought all of his presents a couple of weeks ago as I was concerned that deliveries of non essentials would be restricted.
