How to make ILs understand

Tearing our hair out! ILs don’t seem to understand that they need to stay in! “But Thursday’s our shopping day”. “We’ll be fine at Waitrose instead Of Asda” and ‘needing’ a bizarre list of non essentials! They are mid 80s range of health conditions & a lovely garden!

Ask them if they are happy to have a Do Not Resusitate on them.
Ask them are they happy to potentially pass this virus onto a healthcare worker and then the healthcare worker dies.

I know it sounds harsh but if they contract this that is likely to happen. We've got healthcare workers putting their own lives on the line.

If they answer yes then leave them to it - selfish bastards.

Show them the news coverage of what's happening in Italy or Spain. It will happen here too if people don't do as they have been told. It could happen anyway & they need to stay inside. In their age group, at least 15% of confirmed cases die.

We’ve told them all this - then they reply with ‘we’ll be really quickly’ and try to change the subject. Apparently we are being ‘boring’.

Unfortunatley some folk are like this and you just have to let them get on with it! Many of us have encountered this. Save your energy to keeping yourself/ immediate family safe. There comes a point where you just have let them get on with it I`m afraid.
