I have one DD she works in a key role and has to attend 2 days a week 7 - 6. She is a SP and has one DD age 8 who has been offered a place at school which is open 9 - 3.
I am working from home. I have arranged to have DGD on the days my DD has to work. DD works in the opposite direction to my home so I have DGD overnight. This means DGC gets out of the car and walks into my home the evening before, stays with us for 24 hours, and walks back out the next evening.
My friend who is a nurse has said I am breaking rules and should have no contact. DGD is not having contact with her DF at the moment as he is self isolating until this is over (his words his decision)
The other option is for DGD to go to a childminder or friend before 7am then school 9-3 then childminder or friend until after 6pm. Surely the way we are doing this puts them at less risk and is no different to shared care? I live with my DH and we are not elderly or at higher risk. He is also working at home.
I was quite taken aback as she was quite forceful. I felt our actions were not only reasonable but the least worst option. However I wonder how do others manage this, would anyone do this differently?
