Don't know for sure if its corona but I expect he will be tested now but I'm very worried, he has heart health problems so isn't healthy to begin with but now his oxygen sat levels are low so they've taken him in.

Just need a hand hold I suppose. I have to find the positives here, at least its before the peak so there are beds.

Any update today, @Natsku?

Natsku · 24/04/2020 20:16

Yes today is positive, mum was able to face time my dad, they stopped the sedation this morning. He tried to talk but of course he couldn't make any sound but he was trying to say something to her. It must have been very comforting for him to see her face and hear her, and she told him how much we all miss him and love him.

Oh bless him @Natsku, I am so happy for you and your mum! I have been cheering your dear dad on from the sidelines. I'm sure he'll soon be able to speak. I saw a lady on Sky News today, who had been through similar, and she said she couldn't remember anything about ventilation, but afterwards she felt so much better and stronger, and was frustrated that she couldn't express herself to her family because of the effects of intubation. So the nurses gave her a whiteboard to write messages on, and they sent them to her family. She was remarkable, and recovered quickly afterwards.

SophieB100 · 26/04/2020 15:13

Am so pleased for you all OP, your dad is doing so well. I know they try and get patients sitting up and in chairs as soon as they can, but only if they are well enough, so this is great news. Hope his recovery goes well, what a relief for you and mum.

InglouriousBasterd · 26/04/2020 15:15

So nice to hear. Keep on getting better Natsku's dad x

Natsku · 27/04/2020 20:05

He's had a couple of short sessions with the ventilator switched off today. Tiring for him but going to get him to do it for longer and longer each day. And his infection markers are going down at last.
