After watching the news this morning and seeing the size of the new hospital that will hold up to 4000 beds. I think this has brought home
how this pandemic will play out.
The government are setting up 2 or 3 more of these type of hospitals in other parts of the country.

I think it is great that we are finally properly getting ready.

In addition, it is so easy to be scared looking at 4,000 beds but, even if you say a total of 9,000 will be hospitalised by Corona at its peak in London, that means that another 8,991,000 will either be well or mildly ill at home at the same time.

A small proportion of a big number is still quite a big number.

The Excel centre (now Nightingale hospital) is not just for London, just as the London hospitals have been taking in non-Londoners from the start. It is next door to London City airport which closed last night (now RAF Nightingale) and is now only for the RAF to fly in patients from outside London, and transfer to the Excel centre.
