Headache help

I have what I think is a tension headache caused by constantly clenching my jaw and being extremely tense round my neck and shoulders. I am wfh but don't have a proper desk or chair so when I was sitting at the kitchen table I could feel my neck and shoulders were hunched and tense.

Headache is awful and isn't going away with paracetamol. I've taken 2 doses over last 8 hours....

I feel like ibuprofen would do the trick as I think the source of the pain is muscular BUT I am reluctant to take it in case I am harbouring CV as I know it can make it worse.

Anyone know what I can do to get rid of this headache??

Sorry to hear you are suffering. I sometimes try a very cold or alternatively a warm cloth/flannel over the area, plus resting in a dark room. I've also used a little Vick vapour rub on the area where it's sore. I hope you can get some sleep and feel better tomorrow.

I clench my jaw during sleep and can wake feeling stiff around neck or shoulders, its not nice at all. I've read if you know you are clenching then to smile as you cant do both.

If you can, sleep. I was like this the other day but felt so much better when my neck had relaxed through sleep.

May not be your answer but I have a standing desk. Desk breaks. Regular stretches. Pilates roller. Headache- flannel on head, magnesium helps to relax muscles.

I had the same yesterday.

I was in so much pain I would rather take ibuprofen to get rid of it, than remain in pain unable to function on the slight off chance I may have covid-19.

I needed to weigh up the situation and went with that.

I've been the same - awful
Headaches from I presume wfh positioning. I've got Anadin they do the trick, if you can pop out and grab a pack they are so
Worth it I normally find ibroprofen the best for headaches but reluctant to take right now so tried anadin x

I get headaches quite frequently (I’m on preventative daily meds for them). Nottsangel2015 is spot on with anadin or anadin extra. Just remember both anadin & anadin extra contain aspirin & paracetamol so don’t take ibuprofen with it or any extra paracetamol. I believe b&m are still open & they are the cheapest place to get them.

Do some stretching. Find a yoga channel on youtube and do even 20 minutes. Stick your head outside and get some fresh air. Make sure you've eaten sensibly and drunk plenty of water. Take a stronger paracetamol based pain killer. Have a strong sweet cup of coffee.

Can you take codeine op? Solpadine is paracetamol and codeine and is very effective
