Has anyone had any of their appointments changed or cancelled yet. I am due to go for an echocardiogram on 2nd april. Also are they still letting partners go as well.

My cousin had a check up yesterday as a follow-up to the removal of skin cancer.
I expect my relative's aortic aneurysm monitoring appointment to go ahead in April because of its seriousness. Lots of routine appointments have been cancelled though. I think it will very much depend on the reason for the appointment.

My DP’s cardiology appointment went ahead this week and he’s expecting more tests to come through. He was specifically told to ignore any cancellation texts he might get.

My son is due food allergy testing due to a horrible reaction to peanut butter, we’ve waited 6 months and it’s due 7th April. Fully expecting it to be cancelled but according to a nurse friend (not in paediatrics) it may go ahead as it could be life threatening

Mine is my first cardiology appointment, for echocardiogram and overnight monitor, then return that back next day and consultant appointment on 14th. Originally my dp is coming with me to appointments and when echocardiogram is done as it says about a chaperone, which can be dp, friend or other relative.
I am healthcare worker and we are so short staffed at the moment that if i knew it was going ahead or cancelled i could pick some extra shifts to cover those that are off.

Did any of you accompany your family member or dp to the appointment.

Husband had a follow up consultation that has now changed to a telephone consultation instead.

I have a dermatology appt next week, I'm on a hospital only medication so the appt is a review, pregnancy test and prescription. It's only my third monthly appt and my treatment cycle is meant to be 12 months. I am expecting the treatment to be cancelled or paused but I still haven't had any contact from the hospital telling me that. I'm thinking I may get away with next week's and then it will be the following month's appt cancelled perhaps... obviously my appt is far from life threatening so I would understand. Upsetting for me though as I had to wait 4 months to start the treatment and my face has significant scarring already which will begin to occur again if the treatment is cancelled or paused for too long.

I’m supposed to have my growth scan in a few weeks (baby measuring small) but don’t know if it will happen. I’m a bit stressed about going to hospital heavily pregnant as surely that’s where I’m most likely to pick it up. It’s so stressful

pinkkoala · 25/03/2020 20:52

Were any of you allowed to take your dp.
I would think your baby scan will go ahead and yes i can understand your concerns about picking up the germs there.

Got a txt saying it'd cost the NHS £120 or whatever if I didn't attend an ultrasound this coming Saturday so... Until they become overwhelmed I think it's carry on as normal!

My DH aortic aneurysm monitoring has been cancelled

SoapyChoc · 25/03/2020 21:05

I called my hospital today as I have an appointment on monday. Their facebook page had a statement about cancelling non urgent operations from the 15th and also outpatients and I wasnt sure if that meant from now for outpatients or from the 15th. They confirmed my appointment is still going ahead as long as I feel well. I'm not sure if this is to do with the date or what the appointment is for/whether it was deemed urgent due to how unwell I have been (small bowel MRI as suspected Crohns).
