Do we throw the ball back over? (Mundane I know!)

Sounds stupid I know but neighbours kids have just kicked a ball over the fence. We’re sat in the house so they can’t shout over for it and really hope they don’t come knocking at the door as will have to ignore them. What’s the correct etiquette during this pandemic and lockdown? Would normally just hand it back over but don’t really want to touch it and don’t expect them to want to touch it after I’ve thrown it back either. Do I drench it in Dettol? Do I just leave it or bin it? I feel badBlush

Kick it back?

MaidenMotherCrone · 25/03/2020 18:23

I'd leave it.

Throw it back

FadedRed · 25/03/2020 18:23

Throw it back, wash your hands.

User20076557 · 25/03/2020 18:24

Wash your hands. Give it back. Wash your hands again.

AgnesNaismith · 25/03/2020 18:24

Disinfect then kick it back!

Wash hands. Throw it back. Wash hands.

Simple.

They’ve got loads of stuff in their garden otherwise would get DH to kick it over, don’t want to smash anythingBlush We can either drop it over the fence gently or leave it on their doorstop in a weird knock and run. Will have to wash hands before and after. Day 3 of lockdown, what has my life become!

I have a similar thread running Grin I wasn't bothered about germs but the principle (they were using a communal garden instead of their own large private one which they normally use, probably just because it's against the advice and everyone wants to be a rebel). I chucked it back with my hands, then washed my hands.

Pick it up with a tea towel, throw it back and then wash the towel? Gloves?
