I'm a vaper

Trying really hard to stop. It has helped me give up smoking and I am much healthier for it. I only do it in my back garden and never vape on public so I realise this isn't very often. I've found now I'm stuck indoors I vape a lot more. I'm scared this will put me at a higher risk of contracting severe coronavirus. I'm nearly 30 and young and healthy but really need help to stop. Giving up nicotine and being stuck at home with an 18 month old = horrendous. Anyone similar or can offer advice? I know, I should just quit. I was really proud of myself after giving up my 10 year smoking habit. Would never touch a cigarette again. Help!

I’m 34 and I vape (a lot more than you by the sound of it)...I’m not worried. I know I have done the single most important thing for my health by quitting smoking. I gauge it by how I feel - when I smoked I just felt rough all the time. I had a tight chest and really struggled to do vigorous exercise, constant headache and felt like I could come down with a cold at any moment (because my immune system was suppressed). With vaping I feel the same as I did as a non-smoker. If you really want to quit, that’s great but I wouldn’t stress yourself out too much about it.

@mellowbird85 I think it's seeing that a poor 21 year old woman has died, with no known underlying health issues. I know she's the exception but it made me think seriously about the fact that coronavirus can be devastating at any age.

But on the flip side of that, there have been elderly people that have got better (obviously they’re the exception too). I just think everyone’s suffering from a bit of health anxiety at the minute. I believe that the health risks from low level vaping are negligible.

Elderly people getting better are not the exception! Even over 80 years the mortality rate is 15% so 85% will recover
