Positives during the Coronavirus lockdown

I really feel for anyone affected by this awful virus and hope that people are listening to the guidelines to stay safe and well during this awful time and I am so sad for the people who are ill and that have lost their lives or loved ones during this time. Also so much respect and gratitude for all of our nhs workers, teachers and supermarket workers (and any other key workers) during this time who are keeping our country going.
But I am actually feeling personally contented and peaceful at this time and trying to look on the bright side of it all.
I am enjoying teaching my children very much. I wish I knew a bit more what I was doing with my older DS (year 9) but he seems to be doing well and enjoying the additional activities we’re doing. My youngest I am loving doing the work with, DS (year 6).
They are making me feel so proud with the way they are coping with this and getting on.
I am really enjoying the extra time with them and imaginative ways to stay entertained and the games they are thinking up for us all.
I am loving our quiet peaceful walks for our once a day exercise and loving getting them involved in all of the cooking and planning.
I am enjoying spending more time with our cats.
I think that when all this is over we will be allot more relaxed and not as fast paced as we have previously been.
My youngest has additional needs and learning at home with a routine has just calmed him so much, it’s beautiful to see. He’s less angry, the bad language has eased off so much and he is really very settled when I’d feared the opposite.
Our neighbours have been sharing food with us and in return we have been baking and sharing with them, it’s lovely!
What else are people enjoying during this time?

Actual social distancing. It's nice to FINALLY have people stand away from me (breathing, chatting and laughing loudly, speaking on the phone, all behind my ear - no sense of personal space).

Also nice to have the world slow down a bit as opposed to the constant runaround and over socialisation /extroversion basically required to be called a human being in society.

Goes without saying that jobs and lives lost aren't seen as positive in my eyes.

My DH is wfh and, even though we are in separate rooms of the house whilst working, I love knowing that he is here.

He isn't as tired as he doesn't have to travel for 4 hours per day.

I won't list the negatives, they're pretty obvious, but I'm getting loads done around the house, a few DIY jobs have been needing doing.

I'm having a really good spring clean, and in a few weeks the house will feel lovely and be ready to sell, whenever the lockdown ends.

I feel more focused, less stressed, and strangely calmer. I'm doing lots of exercise like HIIT and yoga, too. Managed to cook lots of healthy meals and being mindful of snacks etc, so have lost a couple of lbs.

Keeping spirits up, so far!

I’m loving the slower life too! Single mum with busy full time job. Now we are just chilling, baking, walking, playing in the garden, watching Disney films and having lay ins. It’s absolutely bliss!
