So my sister works for the above company. She's been doing an apprenticeship and is due to complete this summer. When asked, she was told her qualification remains the same despite other educational cancellations. Due to the high levels of customers, she's had zero time to complete her work. She gets paid around £5 an hour and she's almost 20 years old.
My 4 month old has started to display symptoms of covid-19 and as advised by 111, we are self isolating. They won't test him as he's not a priority, which is fair enough I suppose.
About 2 days before he came up with symptoms, my sister was around him. She explained this to Superdrug and they've told her to continue working. She's since come up with a sore throat (possibly not a symptoms who knows) and they told her to take medicine and to keep working. She works 5 days a week.
I'm absolutely furious. What is the fucking point of me and my kids self isolating? (Which is very hard as it is being a single parent of 3 children). She comes into contact with thousands of people.
I've told her to quit. She doesn't get paid enough, she can't even get her work done, and they are just clearly ignoring the advise that is everywhere.
None of us want to be on lockdown.
If she quits then I don't know what will happen with her apprenticeship that she's worked so hard for. Her anxiety levels are through the roof. She hates confrontation and she's worried what everyone is gonna say.
Any advice welcome 😞
PS I've had to use a new account as for some reason I can't log into my old one? Haven't been on mumsnet for a few weeks and for some reason I've been logged out.
