Exercising while in isolation

I have been in isolation for a week now and need to stay in for another week. Going a bit stir crazy, but what I'm missing most is my exercise. I normally jog at least 5 days a week, I find it great for getting a workout and keeping my head clear.

I've tried doing a few HIIT workouts on YouTube but I have a back injury so wasn't able to do a lot of the exercises (and was quite sore after the ones I did). I also dug out my old fitness skipping rope and that wasn't too bad but I kept tripping the rope.

I need something to get my heart into cardio range. I'd love to run in my back garden but unfortunately it's really small so not sure how I could make that work.

Would love some suggestions please! Smile

Do have stairs?

Can you do a few quick (not running) walks up and down them - that'll really get your heart rate up.

I've been running up and down stairs and doing (very) short sprints up and down the hall way for twenty minutes twice a day. My phone tells me I do 4 km doing this. I also have a "step" like this one and I do step exercises on it while watching TV.

Oh and the Joe Wicks kid's workout on YouTube in the morning is actually pretty intense and well worth doing.

Fitness Blender. Loads of low impact workouts

Hadn't thought of the stairs, thanks! I did think of running the length of the garden, along with the side alley it's about 40 feet, but I was worried about risking ankle injury with all the turning. Might try though.

Will check out Joe Wicks and Fitness Blender thanks 👍

A good old fashioned, high speed deep cleaning session?

Not meaning to suggest your home is dirty Grin but a fast paced shift of furniture, clean of skirting etc always gives me a sweaty glow.

I'd love it if cleaning was enough as I enjoy a good deep cleaning session but unfortunately it just doesn't get my heart rate up to cardio level Sad
