Anyone got any funny, infuriating excuses people are using to avoid what we are being advised to do by the government.

Mental health is the most popular i think, i suffer with depression and have had symptoms so already been self isolating for nearly two weeks already, yeah its boring and i feel like im going insane, but tough shit! Suck it up and stay in the house or its just going to get worse and go on for longer !

A lady posted on Facebook that their employer “had decided” they were essential and therefore would be remaining open, but she “would much prefer” to self isolate with her family. She wanted to know if she could get the 80% pay from the Government to stay at home.

Firstly, your employer most probably did not ‘decide themselves’ that the business is essential. The PM has been very clear on that.

Secondly the 80% wage subsidy is not for people who would prefer to stay at home. It’s for people that have no work due to enforced closures.

my husband cant possibly do the shopping alone

I used to work for asda at head office I have lots of friends who still do. Families (2 adults and multiple children) are turning up. When asked to not all come in, the man has drove, because she doesnt (apparently) drive and the husband could not possibly do the shopping alone.

Who are all these men that cant WFH and watch their kids AND cant do the shopping?
