Is this corona?

Over the weekend I have had what seemed like a continuous mild headache and fatigue.

Yesterday I had a tickle and tightness in my chest but no extreme coughing. I started to get a temperature and by the evening had muscle aches.

During the night I had hot sweats. More horrible muscle aches and headache.

Today I had a really bad morning. Tight chest (but again no bad cough). Fever. Headache.

Had a lie down before lunch. Have since had mild muscle aches, shortness of breath but fever has come down.

I am now in bed but feeling okay - slight headache, shortness of breath and abit achey.

I feel unwell but surely I am feeling too well for it to have been corona ?

Could be. Best to self isolate for 7 days.

What age are you? It seems that can have an impact on how mild or severe your symptoms can be.

Lisette1940 · 24/03/2020 21:51

Sounds like it to me.

Lottapianos · 24/03/2020 21:53

Sounds like it might be. I had a very mild cough - the body aches and fatigue were much more debilitating. Take it easy, lots of fluids, paracetamol if you need it, and self isolate for 7 days. Good luck

All the things you’ve listed are symptoms of Covid-19.

It might not be - but which would you rather: assume it is when it is t, and spend a week at home unnecessarily, or assume it isn’t when it is, and continue a chain of transmission which results in other people dying.

unfortunately there is no way of telling without being tested so most people will never know. What I can tell you it's that our hospital where many people are coming in unwell with symptoms that could be Covid19, many of them are testing negative and being moved to other wards with other respiratory conditions. This is not helped by many people who start coughing and get a temperature and then panic that they have covid 19 which makes breathing worse and can send up in hospital unnecessarily. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks all- I have been self isolating.

I’m in my early thirties and asthmatic. I thought a cough would be the main symptom but that’s not been happening so has made me question if it could corona.

PuzzledObserver thanks but this isn’t a question regarding if I should self isolate or not! Have already been doing so since the weekend.

Probably. The assumption is that now, as we head to April, more viruses and illnesses are Corona than not. You don’t have to be particularly ill. The study by Oxford Uni suggested 50% of the population have had it

I have very similar symptoms - headache, sore throat but no temperature until today. Still no cough. Have assumed its Covid 19.

OBface · 24/03/2020 22:05

Hope you feel better soon

northnorth · 24/03/2020 22:20

Thanks everyone !

Hope you feel better too OBface xxx
