DC has been in contact with another child who is fit and well. But other child has been in contact with someone with suspected CV? Would you self isolate? (I am a keyworker - this has occurred at nursery).

No, you do not need to isolate. Neither you nor your child have symptoms. Assume everyone you meet may have Coronavirus.

In those specific circumstances not unless your household started showing symptoms.

It’s a rock and a hard place but ultimately, as you’re in a much needed role, the luxury of isolating yourselves just in case isn’t really there. There’s still a good chance that the child hasn’t actually got covid.

I would be/am checking temperatures daily though, it’s good to have a baseline anyway but the slightest hint of a temperature rise and I’ll be treating the household as infectious.
