Is anyone else feeling LESS isolated since Coronavirus?

My road now has a really supportive WhatsApp group, I've joined a Covid-19 community volunteering group, and my friends and family are checking in on each other more. I've never had so many active WhatsApp groups on the go.

And even though I've been working from home for the last week, I've been video calling on Teams with colleagues several times a day (almost too much really) and everyone is being kinder and more understanding.

I often feel pretty lonely so this has been a surprise for me. Anyone else?

I work with vulnerable people and keep screaming at Facebook and emails, "we needed this six months ago"! Phone check ins, grocery deliveries, WhatsApp for communities? We've always needed it.

Hopefully it'll be the start of more people volunteering, even when this is all over. I certainly intend to carry on.

Yes, I see a couple of neighbours every single day several times as we're spending so much time in our gardens. It's great.

I (jokingly) told my DF to stop fucking ringing me. He and my Dsis video whatsapped me today when I was trying to sort DC and work. He is loving this aspect and my "I hate the phone" phobia is screaming with so many people trying to contact me. But it's very well intentioned.

But bar the horrible circumstances and the shenanigans trying to sort out DHorse this is my perfect life. I love my house and I love the fact people can't invite me anywhere or come near me!

I had a lovely chat with my new neighbours yesterday. Obviously all done from a safe distance and it was more shouted than chatted as they were in their garden and we were in ours but they moved in before Christmas and apart from waving hello as we see each other going in and out of our houses we never actually had a conversation beforehand. Neighbours in general are all going out of their way to wave and say hello.
