Identified as High Risk no idea why?

My husband got one of the 1.5m letters that have been sent out identifying him as high risk and to isolate for 12 weeks. We have no idea why? Anyone else had this?

He’s a key worker and not able to work from home and has been happy to go into work (they’ve made a lot of effort at his place to facilitate distancing from others). Im working from home while also juggling ours kids being at home (didn’t feel right sending them when to school when we could manage).

He’s happy to continue doing this despite the letter as he really can’t see why it’s been sent and thinks it must be a mistake. I can kind of see his point but it also makes me nervous that he’s still going to work.

He’s rung the doctors but the receptionist said they’re unable to tell him why he got it or even say who might be able to, he has asked if a doctor could quickly review his notes to try and understand why he may have got it. He’s fit and healthy the only things we can possibly think of is he had bad migraines about 1.5yrs age and he got sent for an mri but that was all clear and he’s had no follow ups and the migraines have stopped. He also had a benign tumour on his head removed but that was 15yrs ago and again no issues since. Having read the letter we really can’t see any reason he’s received the letter.

Oo, does sound a bit unsettling. I guess in any mass system like this errors will inevitably occur. Does he have a common name??

And I can kind of see why anyone you ring will say “We haven’t got time to double check data at the moment, you must follow the advice in the letter!”

Does he have any other conditions such as asthma etc? Otherwise it sounds like a mistake, but he could err on the side of caution and follow the guidance until he can speak to the doctor to make sure.

Hello @Whatnow321 - we're just moving this over to the corona topic now as requested.

I think that the coding for identifying patients won’t be perfect and he’s probably popped up on the system due to his former benign tumour. I’m sure when he speaks to his GP it will resolved.
