Hi, I have tried to Google this but can't find any info so I'm hoping I can ask here without getting shouted at too much...
Does anyone know if taxi companies are still allowed to operate?
I don't drive for medical reasons (my husband doesn't either) and also don't live on a bus route to my nearest supermarket so usually I shop once every 10 days or so by walking to the supermarket then getting a taxi back. If I have to walk back I am going to be severely limited as to what I can carry so I am wondering if I will still be able to get a taxi? Otherwise I am going to have to shop more frequently which I really don't want to have to do for obvious reasons!
Also, as an essentially low-risk individual I do not really want to have to call on the help or support of others who will be better placed assisting people with far greater needs than mine.
My other alternative is that my mum can pick me up from the supermarket in her car (she is also low-risk and not currently working) but I'm not sure if that will be allowed as she is not a member of my household.
I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm just trying desperately to get my head around the practical logistics of the next two weeks.
