Builders a couple doors down with an angle grinder since 7am. More traffic on the streets at 6am than normally
Scores of people walking about their business
Mike Ashley still open for his giant mugs that one cup will last any self isolator 3 weeks . Nope , no -one here acting any different to last Tuesday
I'll take the dog out for my only walk of the day soon but I can't see the streets looking deserted

Construction/builders are still allowed to work. I guess they're outside so it's not such an issue.
And until the government offer some support for self-employed, they'll go out until they literally can't

Same here
Infact there is more traffic on the roads now than last week. I understand some people need to to travel to work but it looks from where I am (inside) that people are just jumping in there cars and driving around for the sake of it. Also people walking around as if nothing had changed.

Smyths Toys staff have been told it’s business as usual. Assuming they fall under ‘bicycle store’ as they sell kids bikes Confused and so can stay open. Same as Mike Ashley saying about his selling exercise gear. My partner has received no communication from above in Smyths and just told today they will be open at 10. Disgusting.

Reginabambina · 24/03/2020 09:27

It’s the same where I am as yesterday (judging from the view from my windows).

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 24/03/2020 09:36

Mike Ashley has now totally capitulated and said Sports Direct will not be opening its stores and his Evans' cycle shops.
(Probably after politicians stated in TV earlier that it should not open and other people were criticiding him).

I can't see that Smyth's Toys should be open - even if they sell bicycles. It isn't classed as a bicycle shop.

SamSeabornforPresident · 24/03/2020 09:41

Smyths should definitely not be open. Who the hell needs to go to a toy shop? (Apart from a crazy lady having a massive rant at them because they wouldn't let her in the store with her 3 kids. Worth a read.)

BigMomma99 · 24/03/2020 10:21

Definitely open. I said to my partner maybe they will hear something from above by COB today? I’m astounded!
