Lockdown and garden

Hi I have looked and couldn't see an answer and this is probably a stupid question but during lockdown am I able to let my DC have a run around in our garden. I have more than 5 DC and we have been in self isolation for a week now I haven't let them out yet but when self isolation ends if it's possible I'd like them to have a bit of time outside. I would tell them to stay away from fences and probably do it when others aren't in their gardens.

Yes you’re allowed to go in your own garden.

Also, ‘more than 5 DC’?

I don’t see any problem with using your own garden (during lockdown or self isolation), provided it’s not a shared garden.

Being in the garden is fine. In fact I would encourage it! We live in a flat I am so sad not to have a garden :-(

Redred yesBlush I have 6 under 16 and wasn't sure if they would be allowed out together.

Thank you for the replies Smile

More than 5? As in they move so quickly you can't count them? Yes, its fine to be in your own garden.

Marieo · 24/03/2020 09:30

Yes, as long as it's your own garden and everyone in it are members of the household, ie not inviting others over to play in the garden, even if they don't go in the house.

But shouldn’t everyone try and keep 2m away from the fence because your neighbours will be in their gardens?

Yes you can go in the garden and members of the same household can mix and play together whether there's 2 or 22. I'm thankful for this good weather and being able to get outside.
