Moving House

So if Boris locks us down this evening our house move on Friday is completely and utterly shafted. Our movers won’t move us but solicitors saying we will be in breach of contract if we don’t complete.
It’s been the most stressful move ever and although I’m all for the greater good I’m gutted. Anyone else in the same boat?

In these times people surely will be appreciative of the practicalities. We completed end of feb, and for various reasons - mainly to get the hell on with everything and to break the chain, we sold, and put stuff in storage and did AirBnB so that the previous owners had a couple of weeks to complete their purchase and move. We were (and are - they are still local) on good terms with them though and trusted them becasue we corresponded directly. We got in last week and it was much less stressful once we knwe we owned the house.

Is there any way you coudl do similar? What about the people buying your home? are they able to move in immediately?? (I bet not)

The people buying our house have been.... challenging...throughout the process. Just got to hope the government remember to legislate for those of us in this position. I won’t hold my breath

We’re due to move tom/weds/thurs. Have also been stressed to no end.

Edgeware I hope you manage to sneak in before a curfew. Have your solicitors been clueless too?

Hi i am in same boat - completing on 7th April - moving over 100 miles away - dont know if our removers will move us still waiting to hear - was also told will be in breach of contract - so stressful
