Hi we are in process to move house the last 3 weeks, my husband is only working self employed and we receive universal credit. The landlord knows that and he decided he will accept us only with the guarantor because my husband is working less then a hour this self employment job. We found a guarantor and he passed all the references and we paid holding deposit 3 weeks ago and now we paid also 5 weeks in advance rent deposit plus one month rent upfront. Everything was final only we had to sign the tenancy agreement and move this weekend and today they called my guarantor asking him again to send some new documents showing savings and asking him if he is sure to proceed because of this Coronavirus, because if my husband loose his job they need some security money to have from him for the rent. I'm really frustrated is this legal asking him about keep back some money in case of my husband loosing job. My husband is upset he is telling to cancel about this moving because they are asking too much documents and the process is going more than 3 weeks and we are feeling sorry for our guarantor who is receiving every day calls and asking him about more and more documents. I'm afraid if we give up now they won't return our money and the holding deposit because in the document that we signed about holding deposit said if we change our mind we won't get money back. Any advice??
