Moving House and Corona Lockdown?

Hi All,
We have exchanged on our new house and will be completing this Friday... if the country goes into lockdown what will happen?
We are relocating from Sussex to Devon so it's not like we are moving a couple of streets away.
Would love some reassurance and advice in this stressful time.

Thank you! Fingers crossed it will be London first and then maybe the rest of the country by the end of the week. It's extremely stressful and obviously no one is able to give us answers as this is a complete unknown scenario :-(

We are in Scotland so slightly different as contracts already signed but I’m legally not allowed in my house from noon on Friday. Removal company said last week still ok but I’m not even sure they class this as essential. I feel your stress

It's awful isn't it! So have your removal company crossed that bridge of lockdown and if movement gets restricted and what would happen?

Not yet going to go phone them tomorrow. But I’m hoping it should be classed as essential as it’s a legal transaction. If not then I doubt any van hire places will be open to try do myself.

We have just sold a house. Hopefully it will be fine as it was a second home and the people buying it are not selling their main home although they do need to be living in it by the start of August. The only issue will be the removal companies. I don't know if they are still working.
