Kids dentist checkup?

Would you go in the current climate? Dentist is still open. Me and 3 & 5 yo are booked in for a checkup this week. We last had an appointment 6 months ago with no problems. We have no dental problems now, it just a check up.

This feels completely non urgent and I think I'm going to cancel... Do you agree?

Are you sure it hasn't already been cancelled? My appointment for this week has.

Our dentist announced yesterday it is closing for everything bar emergencies, which I assume is the result of guidance from the regulatory body.

It will be cancelled the BDA have issued guidance on this today. Why are you even considering this?!

20viona · 23/03/2020 10:37

Sorry that was a bit harsh. Yes cancel :)

allaboardthesinkingship · 23/03/2020 10:38

They're open for emergencies only. Phone and cancel before they phone you. We've had so many families call and try and book in for a routine check up now that they're all off from work/school 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thanks for the advice people. I went on the dentist website and it said nothing about only being open for emergencies. It seemed to be suggesting that as long as you weren't showing symptoms you could come in. Maybe they need to update it.

I'll phone and cancel now.

I was wondering about dentists.
My tooth just broke 😩 Worst possible time! I really don't want to have to go out to dentist, but at the same time I don't want it to get worse!

Gizlotsmum · 23/03/2020 13:57

Just checked online and mine is still open...

U2HasTheEdge · 23/03/2020 14:06

My son had two teeth out today to make space for his upcoming brace. They made him an appointment for next week to have two more out.

He had to knock on the door to let them know he was there, then wait outside until collected.

It could have waited but they were happy to go ahead following these procedures.
