So the government are trying to pass a bill to force tests on suspected carriers. What is he point when many of us are ASKING to be tested, and they aren't even testing all the people self isolating already? They could start by testing the willing first surely?

The bill does not just cover this. It's a whole range of measures which they might need to use at some point.

They want stick in anything that they might need, so they do not need to go back to parliament..

Even Liberty is being OK (not keen but OK) with this unprecedented authoritarian approach, because these are exceptional times. They were calling for sunset clauses and reminding the government that they can still be held to account after the event (judicial review and other means) so need to ensure all measures are necessary and proportional

It's just frustrating I know many people self isolating (my family and DCs included) with cough and/or fever and none of us are being tested.
