So.... MIL has been social distancing for a week and so have we, all seems well so far. MIL is 65 and in a higher risk category as she has diabetes.

We have 3 children, 1 baby, one under 3 and a 9 year old. All precautions taken to stay well, out of school and playgroups early etc

Avoided Mother's Day meet ups!

Now MIL has a hospital appointment on Thursday and purportedly can't be alone in the 24 hours afterwards.... so wants to come to us...

How the heck will that work and what was the point of social distancing IR we now have to all be together for 24 hours' after her appointment!

Would anyone else worry ?

Is it an essential appointment? If not might be cancelled. I guess you’ll have to send one person to her house and then try and keep them a good distance away from the rest of the family

It's unlikely to be cancelled now I fear .....

Her nose is already out of joint around Mother's Day and so I think she was hoping to come here as opposed to someone to her house but I think you are right

She's sees the risk as very low but of course, in reality, it's not. I don't want to expose anyone to anything when we've been so careful to this point.

Thanks for replying
