16 week vaccinations

So my baby's 16 week vaccinations are coming up but I'm unsure whether it's safe to be visiting the gp. 2 people have died in the area in the past week yet there are few confirmed cases here. Are the shots entirely necessary or could they be postponed? Thanks

Just to add, necessary was the wrong way to put it. Do they have to be given at the exact number of weeks?
