corona positive - what now?

If you had heard someone you had a meeting with a few weeks before now has the Coronavirus - how much would you panic?

Is there a protocol for this as I can't find it?

I wouldn’t panic at all I don’t think! If you were going to get it you’d have it by now surely? You could have had it and had no symptoms meaning you unknowingly spread it to others but nothing you can do now. I could be completely mistaken though.

For yourself? If it was more than 14 days, you’re good from a self isolating POV.
Depends who I’d been around since as to how much I’d panic

CappyCapCap · 23/03/2020 00:53

What's a few weeks?
2? 4? 8?

goingoverground · 23/03/2020 00:53

A few weeks as in 14 days? Not too much. The median average for developing symptoms after infection is 5 day and 97.5% of people who develop symptoms develop them within 11.5 days.

I would believe the protocol would be to self isolate for 14 days from the time of exposure.

A few weeks ago now... Sad we are only now showing a few health issues...

And worrying about those we have been in contact with. Awful.

Op, since you wont say what a few weeks ago is, I am going to assume you know full well, it was more than 2 weeks ago and you are no more at risk than anybody else.

Which begs the question why post? Someone you met once 4 weeks ago that now has covid-19 doesnt impact you at all.

If you now have some symptoms, you didnt get them from that person. It could be covid caught somewhere else it could be one of the many cold and flu that are around at this time if year that arent covid.

Follow the advice, if you are showing any symptoms. Isolate you and your family for 2 weeks.

Someone I saw last weekend thinks they have CV (confirmed only by 111) and I found out on Saturday night, now I am ill in bed myself with what feels like a chest infection. So it was 7 days and nothing I can do about it now except isolate

Oh please

Educate yourself

And other posters need to as well judging by this thread

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 08:44

There's going to be a lot more of these stories in the coming few days. Seeing as people have ignored the social distancing etc.

LambriniSocialist · 23/03/2020 08:45

There is absolutely no point in panicking. Lots of people are going to get this. Lots of people are going to have passed it on without even knowing they ever had it. That is the harsh, shitty reality if this. Panicking isn't going to do anything now, it's everywhere. Stay at home.

daisypond · 23/03/2020 08:48

A few weeks ago? Not at all. Most people are going to be in contact with people who have it.

KaptenKrusty · 23/03/2020 08:56

I’ve got it - I’m not very worried - just home looking after myself hoping il be well again soon. Husband lives here with me in A tiny apartment so prob only a matter of time til he is ill!

I was at work for the whole lead up to being sick - so all my colleagues have been exposed too!

You could have been exposed to loads of people who have it at this stage and if you don’t get it from then you could from someone else !!

really wouldn’t be too worried though! What can you do?
