Am I being paranoid

I am one of the extremely vulnerable ones. I am currently having chemotherapy for hodgkin's lymphoma which is a blood cancer so immune system is very compromised. I have only left the house for hospital/Dr appts over the last few weeks due to side effects of the chemo and being completely exhausted so have very low risk of catching this virus. But...... 2 weeks ago I spent 3 hours in a emergency clinic as I now have a blood clot in my leg, I then had to go back to the clinic 5 days later for blood tests and again on day 11 which was last weds. After this appt I popped into the supermarket to get some bits. My partner was with me so he pushed the trolley and handled everything so I did not touch anything and also used antibacterial gel when I came out. I have not been out of the house since. For a few days I have had a really dry mouth and throat then yesterday I woke up and my chest was so tight. I kept getting pain in between my boobs but I think this was a bit of acid reflux as have been getting this with the chemo sometimes. I could not take a deep breathe and it felt like my lungs were going to explode. I slept on and off all day but did not have a temperature. I started to feel better around midnight and today I have felt alot better and have stayed awake all day. Lungs feel a little tight but nothing like yesterday and this could be to do with the chemo. Now tonight I have started to get really achy legs and I've just read on another thread that some people get this. Still no temperature, slight cough as throat has been a little thick but only every so often. Over the last few days expect today I have also woken up with a headache but it's gone when I've taken medication. Do you think I could have the start of this or am I just panicking ? Did anybody else have symptoms like this ? I know I will need to go to hospital if I have but don't want to be phoning 111 if I'm overreacting. My partner has also had the dry mouth and throat but nothing else but said tonight he feels hot but his temp is reading normal.

You need to ring your Macmillan nurse, or your hospitals 24/7 contact number for haem/onc patients (you should have been given it when you started chemo) or any other contact number for your unit.

Talk it through with them. Even before this weekend’s advice, it was better for symptomatic blood cancer patients to use the haem team contact arrangements. Any signs of any infection require review/monitoring/active intervention because of the elevated sepsis risk

Ring your Macmillan nurse and ask for advise.

My husband had an elbow infection recently and GP has no appointments and 111 as you can imagine was very busy. I was worried about sepsis as it kept getting worse, someone suggested phoning his Macmillan nurse and she got him our GP surgery half an hour later.

I'd never have thought to ask for help from his Macmillan nurses.
