Red blotchy tongue

DD 7 came down with something very quickly on Friday after school. Sore throat turned into temperature within a couple of hours. Was sick a few times but just bile. Headache sore throat fever. She now has a blotchy white tongue and smells awful. She hasn't a cough.

We've been SI and assuming the virus but has anyone had these symptoms? I'm just thinking she might need antibiotics and we might not need to SI.

Also I thought kids were supposed to have it mildly. She's really poorly. Never normally gets ill, no underlying health conditions. Had tonsillitis once out of the blue about 3 years ago.

I'm not considering not SI. It's more about wanting the right treatment if it's not actually the virus.

I could be completely wrong here, but DH had a tongue like that when he had scarlet fever. Perhaps worth checking that.

Hope she feels better soon.

She's literally just come out in a sand paper rash all over. She had scarlet fever a few years ago. It's hard to get though surely.., but that's what I'm slowly realising. Shit. She has to get antibiotics. Bloody great timing.
