Pubs staying open

I've been reading how Scotland is having to introduce emergency legislation to force pubs to close, as some are insisting on staying open. I understand they need to earn a living, but a lot of families face real financial hardship (mine included, so I'm not unsympathetic) without feeling the need to encourage behaviour that has been deemed a threat to public health.
So who the bastarding hell do they think they are??? Some people need to grow the fuck up and realise that they as an individual are not more important that society as a whole. I'd be in favour of them being given one more chance, and threatened with some sort of temporary license removal that will stop them opening for a period of time, even once they're allowed to, if they don't comply immediately. The government is busy and doesn't need to be spending time on legislation to force people to follow rules they should be following anyway.
And as for the people going to the pubs, their livelihood isn't even dependant on it, they just think their pint is more important the the rest of us.

Just. Fuck. Off.
