My husband works down a mine. It's filthy work at the best of times. There are no hygiene measures down there. No hand washing, no loos, nothing. It's incredibly hot down there too.
The mine is not shutting down for the time being. It's not coal producing so not essential surely?
They've been told to put on masks and gloves before going underground. They ride down packed in like sardines usually. They haven't said if they will do multiple trips down. They've not really given any other information. The union is silent so far.
