In the event of a Lockdown

Will we still be able to get online deliveries of non food related items?

Just wondering, in the event of a lockdown, will we still be able to order online? Will it be everything or only certain things? Clothing, Furniture, DIY related items, toys, etc

I'm on Day Five of Self Isolation with a bored Toddler and bored DH. Wondering whether to order in some bits to keep them busy and entertained if this is going to become the new normal for a while.

I believe lockdown still means people go to work , the supermarket and chemist only so yes should still be able to get delivery's .

Just reading the ‘I’m in lockdown in France’ AMA thread.... and I would have thought not.
I do believe it’s total lockdown except:
Groceries
Pharmacy
Walking dogs
Solo exercise close to home

Therefore delivery drivers wouldn’t be allowed (I think!) but perhaps ask the poster on that thread?

Yeah am in France too and Amazon have said they're only gonna be doing essential deliveries from now

viccat · 22/03/2020 16:57

I work for an online retailer and we are expecting delivery companies will continue to operate, however as a business that is considered non-essential, we will most likely have to close for a period of time.

So - probably yes, some deliveries will still happen but there may be a limited choice of businesses open. You'll probably be able to order essential supplies online, most of the other countries in lockdown still have that.

Perhaps I should order sooner rather than later then, just in case.

I ordered some stuff on wednesday. Got some of it on friday, the tablet came today but some of it hasn't left the warehouse yet so not totally convinced it's going to make it. Of what we got, I'm rationing the kids (and my) access to it to make it last longer.

It's my DS birthday next week. I need to get his birthday presents when I get paid on Wednesday. I'm now really panicking that I won't be able to if any more shops close!

Will try and pick one thing up tomorrow from smyths but the main one (camera from curry's) I can't get til Wednesday.
Was going to order online but it's unlikely they'll be delivered on time/at all.

We've just done an online clothes shop as I suspect we're getting close to a lock down and unsure if clothing stores will still be open.

Well, I did order some bits. I ordered from Amazon and Agros and now wondering whether I'll get my items or not. Haven't heard any information about stuff like this yet.
