Our local F&C shop has a huge poster in the window asking for staff urgently, I thought they had to be closed now?

They don't do deliveries.

Do they do take away?

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 22/03/2020 15:19

They must be planning to start deliveries.

pitlochrypat · 22/03/2020 15:20

Errm, yes, F&C shops are takeaways aren't they!

The notice doesn't ask for drivers, it asks for staff.

Why are they being irresponsible?

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 22/03/2020 15:22

They still need someone to cook the food if they’re planning to start deliveries.

Plus takeaways are allowed to still be open - it’s sit ins that can’t be.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 22/03/2020 15:22

Then where is the problem? Takeaways are still allowed to be open.

Azandme · 22/03/2020 15:23

Takeaways are allowed to be open.

Please read the guidelines - so many people peddling half truths and misinterpretations.

FatAlbert · 22/03/2020 15:23

Our local f&c shop is running on a delivery only basis, they’re much busier than normal.

Vagndidit · 22/03/2020 15:23

Takeaway establishments are able to continue business at their discretion. Only sit down areas in restaurants and cafes are required to close.

GrumpyHoonMain · 22/03/2020 15:24

Takeaways are allowed

RhymingRabbit3 · 22/03/2020 15:25

Takeaways (delivery or collection) are still allowed to run. Its pubs and restaurants where people are sat in close quarters for long periods which are the issue (at present). This isnt any more irresponsible than a shop advertising for staff which most are.

OP: ‘Oh...’ Blush

dementedpixie · 22/03/2020 15:33

Of course they arent irresponsible. If they need staff to serve in the shop then they can advertise for them. Takeaways are allowed to stay open. Restaurants can be open to allow for takeaway and deliveries too

BeansOnToast4T · 22/03/2020 15:37

I went to our local chip shop yesterday - only four people allowed in at any one time, no leaning on the counter. Everyone stayed a good distance apart. No problem.

june2007 · 22/03/2020 15:39

TBH I do think takeaways should close, but at the mo they don,t have to so they are doing nothing wrong.

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2020 15:42

If for example some of their staff are self-isolating, of course they're going to need more staff.

Or as a PP pointed out, they may be about to start delivering.

Totally not the question but do you actually live in Pitlochry, and if so is it the amazing chippie that does battered smoked fish?

pitlochrypat · 22/03/2020 22:30
