I need to have a medically managed miscarriage today (Mother’s Day) after I found out my baby’s heart stopped beating at 7w5d.

I feel hopelessly hopelessly sad and will soon start contracting and bleeding heavily. Because of panic buyers my DH cannot find any sanitary pads. So as well as dealing with the emotional grief of losing my baby, and the pain of the physical miscarriage, I now face the indignity of having to bleed through a cut up bathroom towel.

If you have been panic buying over the last two weeks, shame on you.

Where are you OP?

If you were anywhere near me you could have the maternity pads I have left from when I had DD.

BenScalesIsAGod · 22/03/2020 14:50

This is awful. I had the same done yesterday but nothing has happened. Makes me almost thankful now as I don’t have many pads either.

StrawberryBlondeStar · 22/03/2020 14:50

OP I am sorry you are going through this. On a practical note, where are you in the country? If I am near you happy to pop over a pack. I’ve moved over to reuseables, but still have some in the bathroom cupboard).

Whoknows192345 · 22/03/2020 14:50

Can the hospital not offer any OP?

Thinking of you xx

Babyroobs · 22/03/2020 14:51

If you are anywhere near Leicester I can get a packet to you.

IAmFleshIAmBone · 22/03/2020 14:51

OP I can send you two unopened packs if you like? (not panic bought, I bought them ages ago when I was having an endometriosis flare up and couldn't use anything else)

Thank you for your kind offers, I’m in Birmingham at the hospital atm but I live 45 mins away. I’ve texted my mum and she’s currently out looking for me so hopefully she’ll find some. It’s good to know that there are still a great number of selfless people out there to counteract the mindless panic buyers.

OP - I’m not near, but if your mum struggles let me know. Happy to put some packs in the post

OP pop on to Amazon. Lil-lets maternity pads are available to be delivered. I used them during my miscarrage (left over from previous pregnancy) and they are great.
