It occurs to me that perhaps I should stop buying stuff off eBay (usually kids/baby clothes). These are usually wrapped in plastic bags which the virus can presumably live on. Should I wipe them all down with bleach before opening or just stop buying? Just wondered if there was any official advice on this / receiving items in the post? Because I can't find it! Thanks!

You could wash hands after handling and leave 3 days before opening, the virus survives for longer on cardboard – up to 24 hours – and up to 2-3 days on plastic and stainless-steel surfaces.

If. It helps I read a news article yesterday about receiving letters in the post and the advice was "open it, read it, bin it". Personally I love an ebay bargain but have stopped buying from there. I figure bigger companies will likely have hygiene systems in place to ensure their products and those handling them are sanitised- or at least I've had several emails from companies assuring me thay they are taking steps to do so.

Yeah I think that's right @mummabubs
